High-Risk Arrest in Kitchener Results in Seizure of Loaded Handguns, Ammunition and Drugs

 

Waterloo Region, Ontario –  Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to a shooting that occurred in the Municipality of West Grey in the early morning hours of July 26, 2018.

The investigation, which was conducted with the assistance of the West Grey Police Service, the OPP and the Waterloo Regional Police Service, determined that the suspect was in the Bloomingdale Road South area of Kitchener.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Emergency Response Team located the suspect and executed a high-risk arrest on Bridge Street East in Kitchener.

During the arrest, officers seized three loaded handguns, rounds of ammunition, a large quantity of cash, suspected methamphetamine and pills.

A 31-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and is scheduled to appear in a Walkerton courtroom on July 27, 2018 to face one count of attempt murder and one count of Discharge Firearm with Intent.

A 33-year-old Kitchener female was also arrested in the area. As a result, officers seized suspected fentanyl.
