Police Arrest and Charge Driver for Impaired Following Cambridge Collision

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Police arrest and charge driver with impaired driving after responding to a motor vehicle collision in Cambridge.

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to reports of a single motor vehicle collision on Franklin Boulevard near Avenue Road.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver of a black GMC Terrain was travelling south on Franklin Boulevard, lost control and struck a light pole in the center median, causing the light pole to block northbound lanes.

Officer arrived and arrested the driver for impaired.

There were no injuries reported.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Cambridge male was charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration
  • Careless Driving

Franklin Boulevard was closed for the investigation and have since been reopened.
