Police Arrest Male after Gun Fired during Altercation in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police arrested and charged a male after responding to a disturbance in Kitchener. 

On November 23, 2022, shortly before 9 p.m., police responded to the area of Kingsway Drive and Wilson Avenue for a disturbance and reports of gunshots. 

During an altercation between four adult males, a gun was fired. 

One of the involved parties sustained minor injuries during the physical altercation.

As a result of the investigation by WPRS’ General Investigations Unit, a 38-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and has been charged with the following offences:

  • Careless Use of Firearm
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon
  • Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with ammunition

The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
