Police Arrest Male After Responding to Commercial Break-In in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after being called to an in-progress break and enter in Kitchener. 

On May 19, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a break-in at a commercial business in the area of Fairway Road South and Manitou Drive. 

The male allegedly broke into a business and was confronted by the business owner. A physical altercation ensued as the male fled. 

Through investigation, police located and arrested the suspect on Fairway Road.

As a result of the investigation, a 56-year-old Kitchener male was charged with break and enter - intent to commit. The male was also arrested on several outstanding warrants for the following:

  • Break and enter and commit theft (four counts)
  • Theft of a motor vehicle (two counts)
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited (two counts)
  • Possession of stolen property over $5000

The business owner suffered minor physical injuries as a result of the incident and was treated at the scene by Region of Waterloo Paramedics.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
