Police Arrest Male after Weapons Incident in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 45-year-old male after receiving a report of a weapons incident in Kitchener. 

On April 19, 2023, at approximately 1:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a male brandishing a knife and threatening staff members at a business in the area of King Street West and Ontario Street North. 

Police responded to the area and located and arrested the male without incident. 

The accused has been charged with several offences, including: 

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Failure to Comply with Judicial Release Order
  • Possess Break-In Instrument

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

There were no reported physical injuries.
