Police Arrest Male in Connection to Stabbing Incident in Waterloo

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario  Waterloo Regional Police have charged a suspect with attempted murder in connection to a stabbing investigation.

On September 21, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to a business in the area of University Avenue East and Weber Street North for a report of a male attempting to stab another male.

A 32-year-old male was arrested and charged with numerous criminal offences including aggravated assault.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

On September 24, 2024, investigating officers charged the accused with attempted murder.

The accused is scheduled for a bail hearing on September 25, 2024.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after responding to reports of a stabbing in Waterloo.

On September 21, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to a business in the area of University Avenue East and Weber Street North for a report of a male attempting to stab another male.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect.

The victim, a 37-year-old male was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Kitchener male was charged with the following offences:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Uttering threats to cause death
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

The accused and the victim were known to each other.
