
On June 6, 2021, at approximately 8:35 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a car dealership on King Street East in Kitchener for an in-progress theft.
Police received information that two individuals were allegedly removing catalytic converters from motor vehicles within the parking lot.
Upon arrival police observed the suspects fleeing the area on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, a 40-year-old female was arrested.
Through further investigation, police located and arrested a 36-year-old male.
Both parties were charged with numerous property-related offences, including Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 and Possession of Break and Enter tools.
The male was held for a bail hearing. The female was released on an Undertaking.
With the assistance of the Canine Unit, the stolen property was recovered and returned to the property owner.
