Police Charge a 62-year-old Brantford male in Connection to Fraud Investigation

media release

On June 3, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 62-year-old Brantford male in connection to a lengthy fraud investigation.

This investigation, led by the Service's Commercial Crime Team, involved allegations of fraud dating back to 2018 associated to the forging and uttering of proprietary corporate documentation belonging to a local trucking company.

It is alleged that an individual associated with this trucking company populated documents containing fabricated approval for disproportionate trade-in valuations in relation to a customer's used vehicle, or accurate information about a vehicle that a customer was interested in purchasing but which was not actually in the trucking company's inventory.

As a result of this investigation, the 62-year-old male is facing two counts of Forgery and Uttering Forged Documents.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
