Police Charge Brantford Male with Drug-Related Offences after Traffic Stop in Cambridge

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Neighbourhood Policing South Division have charged a motorist with drug-related offences after a traffic stop in Cambridge. 

On March 28, 2022, at approximately 10:05 a.m., police stopped a GMC truck in the area of Hespeler Road and Pinebush Road. 

The driver was operating the vehicle while disqualified and was placed under arrest.

Subsequent to the arrest, police located a large amount of drugs inside the vehicle, including approximately:

  • 95 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 46 grams of suspected heroin
  • 38 grams of suspected cannabis resin
  • 198 grams of suspected psilocybin
  • 242 grams of suspected dried cannabis

The total estimated street value of the drugs is over $20,000.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 59-year-old Brantford male, was charged with multiple offences including:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (five counts)
  • Fail to Comply with a release order (two counts)
  • Drive while Disqualified

The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
