
Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service's Special Victims Unit has charged a male after a sexual assault investigation in Kitchener.
On April 8, 2022, at approximately 10:40 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the area of Weber Street West and Victoria Street North.
It was reported that a male had sexually assaulted a young person while they were both passengers on a GO bus. The young person was able to seek assistance from an individual on the bus, and police were contacted.
Upon arrival, officers located the male and placed him under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Kitchener male was charged with sexual assault and failure to comply with a release order.
The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
