
On April 1, 2021, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Westmount Road East and Laurentian Drive in Kitchener for reports of an armed robbery at a communications store. Reports indicate that three suspects, described as young males, black, wearing orange reflective clothing entered the store. One male brandished a hand gun. The males fled the scene in a grey sedan after stealing an undisclosed amount of property. No physical injuries were sustained.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., police responded to the area of Beaver Creek Road in Waterloo for reports of a car on fire. Three males were seen fleeing the area. One male was restrained by a witness and arrested by police. Two males remain outstanding and are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police immediately.
As a precaution, schools in the area of Beaver Creek Road in Waterloo were placed in ‘hold and secure’ but have since been lifted.
