Police have arrested a 15-year-old Kitchener male in connection to an incident at a local school

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 15-year-old Kitchener male in connection to an incident at a local high school.

On November 17, 2021, at approximately 9:40 a.m., police responded to the area of Charles Street East in Kitchener after receiving reports of an online threat to cause potential harm to staff and students at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute.

Cameron Heights was temporarily placed into a hold and secure while police continued to investigate.

As a result of the investigation, police identified and arrested a male youth. The 15-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with one count of Uttering Threats to Cause Death.

The youth is scheduled to appear in court on January 7, 2022.
