Police Investigating Hate-Motivated Assault in Kitchener

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario – WRPS' General Investigations Unit has laid charges in connection to a hate-motivated incident in Kitchener.

On April 3, 2023, at approximately 1 p.m., a male youth was walking in the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and Forest Hill Drive when he was approached by several male youths who assaulted him.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, four male youths from Kitchener have been arrested and charged. Two youth are facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The other youths have been charged with assault.

Waterloo Region, Ontario  Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an assault that occurred in Kitchener. 

On April 3, 2023, at approximately 1 p.m., a male youth was walking in the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and Forest Hill Drive when he was approached by several male youths who assaulted him.

The victim suffered minor physical injuries as a result of the incident. 

Police are treating this as a hate-motivated incident and are continuing to investigate.
