Police Investigating Shooting in Centreville Area of Kitchener

Shooting Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a shooting in the Centreville area of Kitchener. 

On September 22, 2022, at approximately 6:45 a.m., police received a report that a person had been shot in the area of Weber Street East and Kinzie Avenue.

Upon arrival, police located a 65-year-old Kitchener male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The male was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe that this was a targeted incident. 

There will be an increased police presence in the area throughout the day as detectives conduct a canvass.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Major Crimes Unit, General Investigations Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.
