Police Lay Charges and Seize Drugs and Weapons in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have charged three individuals in connection to a drugs and firearms investigation in Kitchener.

On April 16, 2025, members of WRPS' Emergency Response Team, Criminal Intelligence Unit and Neighbourhood Policing Central Division completed a search warrant at a residence in the area of King Street East and Stirling Avenue North.

Officers located and seized a loaded shotgun, an imitation handgun, a conducted energy weapon, a machete and other weapons. Drugs, including suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and hydromorphone, were also seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old male and a 44-year-old male, both from Kitchener, and a 35-year-old female were arrested and jointly charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (six counts)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Careless storage of ammunition
  • Unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Additional individual charges included breach of an order, breach of probation, and fail to comply with a release order.

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
