Police Lay Impaired Driving Charges after Collision in Wilmot Township

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have charged a female driver with impaired driving-related offences after a collision in Wilmot Township.

On May 19, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a collision involving two motor vehicles in the area of Trussler Road and Highway 7.

A GMC Sierra was travelling north on Trussler Road when the driver allegedly turned west towards the Highway 7 on-ramp and struck a Toyota Corolla that was travelling south on Trussler Road.

Officers from WPRS’ Neighbourhood Policing arrived at the scene of the collision and subsequently arrested the driver of the GMC.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old Kitchener female was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration and left turn – fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision.
