Waterloo Regional Police arrest a 43-year-old male in Connection to Lengthy Fraud Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On June 3, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 43-year-old male in connection to a lengthy fraud Investigation.

The investigation, led by the Service’s Organized Financial Crime Unit, involved allegations of fraud that dated back to 2017, involving a local property management corporation.

The company managed the properties of multiple condominium properties, which included securing service contracts and handling finances.

It’s alleged that an individual associated with the company fraudulently obtained funds from several of the condominium corporate accounts, which resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses.

Currently, five complexes in Waterloo Region have been identified as victims. The financial loss has totaled more than $500,000. 

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old male faces five counts of Fraud Over $5,000 and five counts of Theft Over $5,000.   

The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
