Waterloo Regional Police Arrest a Male After Using a Machete in a Kitchener Robbery

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police has arrested a male after a robbery with a machete in Kitchener.

On March 12, 2025 at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Pattandon Avenue and Mill Street for a report of a robbery.

The victim had advertised a cellphone online and was contacted by a buyer. The pair agreed to meet, and during the exchange, the buyer displayed a machete and robbed the victim of their cellphone.

Police checked the area and later located the vehicle and the subject male.

The 21-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged, and was held for a bail hearing.  

Police encourage those selling items online to use the buy and sell zones located at the divisions of the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
