Waterloo Regional Police Arrest male in connection to Homicide Investigation near St Agatha

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 33-year-old male in connection to an early morning homicide that occurred on July 29, 2020.  

Police responded to the area of Erbs Road, near the town of St. Agatha, at approximately 12:45 a.m., after receiving a report of a 35-year-old male found deceased in a farm field.

Information obtained led officers to believe that the suspect was travelling on foot.

At approximately 9:10 a.m., officers arrested the suspect near Charles Street in Kitchener. The 33-year-old male has been charged with one count of second degree murder.

He is scheduled to appear in Kitchener’s Ontario Court of Justice on July 29, 2020.

The victim and the accused are known to each other.

Details surrounding the identity of the victim will not be released at this time.

There will be an increased police presence in the Erbs Road area throughout the day as the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 ext. 8191 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
