Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Two Stratford Males after Disturbance in Wilmot Township

Waterloo Region, Ontario - On June 3, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Huron Street and Wilmot Street in Wilmot Township. 

Through investigation, police learned that a male had been involved in a relationship with a 16-year-old female. Individuals known to the female arranged a meeting with the male on Huron Street in Wilmot Township. When the male arrived, the two males got into his vehicle and forced him to drive. During the incident, the male was assaulted several times by the subjects, who also brandished a knife. 

The male was able to flee from the vehicle and called 9-1-1. 

Officers attended the scene and arrested two males in connection to the incident. 

As a result of the investigation, two Stratford males, 34 and 25, have been charged jointly with Robbery, Kidnapping and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. 

Both males were held in custody for a bail hearing.
