Waterloo Regional Police charge a 24-year-old Waterloo male in connection to a collision in Waterloo.

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Emergency Services responded to the intersection of Columbia Street West and Phillip Street in Waterloo for a collision involving a vehicle and motorcycle.

The investigation revealed that a Honda Civic, driven by a 24-year-old male from Waterloo was traveling west on Columbia Street West and was preparing to make a left turn onto Phillip Street. The Honda turned directly in front of a 65-year-old Waterloo male, riding a Yamaha motorcycle.

The rider suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an out-of-region hospital.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit led the investigation. The intersection was closed for several hours while investigators remained on scene.

As a result of the investigation, the driver of the Honda Civic was charged with several offences, including Careless Driving Cause Bodily Harm, under the Highway Traffic Act.
