Waterloo Regional Police Complete a Child Pornography Investigation Resulting in an Arrest

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a Cambridge male after a child pornography investigation.

On January 31, 2025, Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime – Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit completed a search warrant at a Cambridge residence, which resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old male.

The male initiated contact with a person online who he believed to be a female youth, but was part of an online undercover police operation. Throughout their communications, the male discussed sexually explicit acts involving the child and attempted to solicit intimate images from the youth.

As a result of the joint investigation involving Saskatoon Police Service, the male has been charged with luring a child, making child pornography, and attempting to make child pornography.

The male has been held for a bail hearing.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
