Waterloo Regional Police Conduct Search Warrants in Relation to Kitchener Homicide

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate the fatal shooting of Irshad Sabriye, 20, that occurred on November 26, 2019, in Kitchener.

On August 12, 2020, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Investigative Services branch and the Emergency Response Team completed a series of search warrants at 37 Vanier Drive in Kitchener.

Information gathered during the homicide investigation led to the warrants being issued. 

As a result of the search warrants, investigators seized a quantity of controlled substances, including suspected cocaine and prescription pills. Police also seized drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash.

An adult male has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Additional arrests and charges are anticipated as the investigation proceeds.
