
Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred in Kitchener.
On June 10, 2020, at approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to the area of King Street East and Deer Ridge Drive, after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police located a 55-year-old Mississauga man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital in stable condition.
A black Mercedes car was seen fleeing the area at the time of this incident, possibly headed east on King Street towards Highway 401.
The suspect has been described as a tall, white male.
There will be an increased police presence in the area while investigators continue to canvas.
Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Branch continue to investigate to determine whether this was a random or targeted incident. Police would like to remind the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or individuals to police immediately.
