Waterloo Regional Police Continue to Investigate Shooting in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred in Kitchener on June 24, 2019.

Police responded to a plaza in the area of Fairway Road South and Wilson Avenue at approximately 5:40 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of gunshots fired.

Upon arrival, one male and two female victims were located. The male was transported to an out-of-town hospital in critical condition. One female was treated and released from a local hospital. The other female remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are continuing to conduct an extensive video canvas of the area. Police are requesting anyone with dash cam video who happened to be in the area of 500 Fairway Road South in Kitchener, between 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., to contact police.

Investigators are also encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, and have not yet spoken to police, to call 519-570-9777 ext. 8666.

Waterloo Regional Police are looking for information in relation to the suspect. He is described as male, black, wearing black casual pants, a black hoody, white socks and carrying a red gym bag.

The investigation is ongoing. Waterloo Regional Police would like to remind the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or suspicious individuals to police. If the suspect is observed, please do not approach, but call 9-1-1 immediately.
