Waterloo Regional Police Continue to Investigate two Shooting Incidents

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate reports of two shooting incidents that occurred during the early morning hours of October 16, 2020.

At approximately 4:10 a.m., police responded to the area of Speckled Alder Street in Waterloo for reports of multiple shots fired. No injuries were reported.

A silver Honda Civic with tinted windows was seen fleeing the area. Police initiated a pursuit, in efforts to stop the vehicle and identify the driver, however it was terminated in the area of Bleams Road in Kitchener out of concerns for public safety.

At approximately 4:50 a.m., police received a second report of a shooting in the area of Apple Ridge Drive in Kitchener.

Multiple shots were fired at a residence. No injuries were reported. A white vehicle was seen in the area prior to the shots fired.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigative Branch are investigating to determine if the two incidents are related.

There will be an increased police presence in the area of Speckled Alder Street in Waterloo and Apple Ridge Drive in Kitchener throughout the day as the investigation remains ongoing.

The public is reminded to remain vigilant and encouraged to report any suspicious activity or individuals to police immediately.
