Waterloo Regional Police Continuing to Investigate Fatal Shooting in Cambridge

 

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred in Cambridge on April 17, 2019.

Police responded to an area on King Street East, near Church Street North and Westminster Drive North, at approximately 5:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police located a female suffering from serious injuries. The female, Helen Schaller, 58, from Cambridge, was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem examination determined that Mrs. Schaller died from gunshot wounds.

Investigators are looking for a male suspect who was seen in the area prior to the shooting. The individual has been described as a white male, with a slim build. He had a shaved or bald head and was between 20-40 years of age. He was seen leaving the area operating a red Honda car.

Members of our Major Crime Unit continue to follow up on leads.
