
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to a disturbance in Kitchener.
On Thursday, November 11, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Victoria Street North in Kitchener for a report of a disturbance.
The investigation revealed that a male assaulted a female with a knife, and then fled the scene.
The female was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police later located the male a short distance away.
The 39-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with numerous criminal offences including, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Schedule I substance, and Forcible Confinement. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Both the victim and the accused are known to each other and there is no risk to general public safety.
