Waterloo Regional Police Identify Suspect Vehicle in Fatal Hit and Run Collision

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a fatal hit and run collision after a male was located deceased in Kitchener.

On February 3, 2020, at approximately 10:55 a.m., police responded to the area of Highland Road West and Ira Needles Boulevard in Kitchener after receiving a report of an injured male.

Upon arrival, police located a 40-year-old Kitchener male deceased by the side of the road.

Investigators have located what is believed to be the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.

The vehicle, a 2009 Cadillac CTS, black in colour, was seized by police from a residence in Waterloo.

Investigators believe that the male was struck by a motor vehicle while he was walking on Highland Road West near Westheights Drive during the overnight hours from February 2 to February 3, 2020. The vehicle then left the scene.


Members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit and Traffic Services Unit are continuing to investigate.


Anyone with information, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the area of Highland Road West and Ira Needles Boulevard, on February 2 to February 3, from 10:30 p.m. to midnight, is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 ext. 8191 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
