
Waterloo Region, Ontario – On June 28, 2021, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Emergency Services responded to a collision on River Road East near Lorraine Avenue in Kitchener.
Upon arrival, police located a motorcyclist suffering from serious injuries. The 29-year-old Kitchener male was transported to hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Through investigation, police determined that the motorcyclist passed a second motorcycle before losing control and striking the rear of a Toyota Prius.
The second motorcyclist lost control of their motorcycle while attempting to avoid the collision. The motorcyclist and a passenger were assessed by paramedics but did not require further medical attention.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service's (WRPS) Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV) was deployed to assist with the investigation. Area roads were closed for several hours while police investigated.
