Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Fatal Collision in Wilmot Township

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit continue to investigate a fatal collision in Wilmot Township. 

On November 28, 2021, at approximately 09:40 am, emergency services responded to the area of Queen Street and Bleams Road for a single motor vehicle collision. 

Through investigation, it was determined that a Toyota Highlander was travelling south on Queen Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and rolled into a ditch. 

The driver, a 74-year-old Kitchener male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 77-year-old Kitchener female, was transported to an out-of-region hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

The roadway was closed from approximately 09:45 am to 3:45 pm as police investigated at the scene. 

The investigation is ongoing.
