Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Fire Incidents in Cambridge

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after receiving multiple reports of fires and mischief incidents in Cambridge. 

Emergency services responded to four reported fires between November 10, 2022, at 11 p.m. and November 11, 2022, at 4 a.m. 

The first fire was set to a large pile of leaves near the intersection of Dorset Road and McDonald Avenue. This fire resulted in no property damage. 

The second fire was set to a large pile of leaves near the intersection of Dorset Road and Ivy Court, resulting in no reported property damage. 

The third fire was set to a pile of leaves near the intersection of Dorset Road and Foster Crescent, resulting in no property damage. 

The fourth fire was set to a vehicle which was left abandoned in Churchill Park. 

The Cambridge Fire Department was able to extinguish each fire. 

Through the investigation, police determined that an unknown suspect disconnected a hydro line near the intersection of Myers Road and Elgin Street South, causing a power outage to area residences for an extended period of time. 

Investigators believe that the incidents are connected, and the investigation is ongoing.
