
Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a hate-motivated crime that took place in Waterloo on March 30, 2023.
Police were informed that at approximately 1:50 p.m., a female was walking in the area of University Avenue West and Hazel Street in Waterloo when she was struck by an object thrown from a passing vehicle.
As the vehicle drove past, the victim reported that passengers yelled a racial slur.
The victim, a 20-year-old female, did not sustain any reported physical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
