Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Report of Driver Committing an Indecent Act in Waterloo

UPDATED RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police Service's Special Victims Unit have made an arrest in connection to an ongoing suspicious persons investigation in Waterloo.

On January 9, 2023, at approximately 7:25 p.m., officers from WRPS’ Neighbourhood Policing North Division responded to the area of Lincoln Road and Margaret Avenue North for a report dark-coloured pickup truck following a female.

Officers attended the area, located the vehicle and arrested the driver.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, the male driver was connected to two previous suspicious persons incidents that had occurred in the same area in December 2022.

A 26-year-old Waterloo male was arrested and charged with the following:

• Criminal Harassment (three counts)
• Indecent Act (two counts)

The investigation remains ongoing by members of WRPS' Special Victims Unit.

PREVIOUS RELEASE:

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a report of a suspicious male in the area of Bluevale Street North and Harvard Road in Waterloo. 

On December 12, 2022, at approximately 7:15 p.m., a female was walking her dog when she observed a vehicle that appeared to be following her. 

The driver of the vehicle continued to follow the female along her route, stopping at several points.

The female victim witnessed the driver engage in an indecent act while driving. 

The male has been described as white, in his mid to late 40s, with facial stubble, and was last seen wearing a dark toque. 

The vehicle was described as a newer model dark-coloured pickup truck. 

There were no reported physical injuries.
