Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is encouraging the community to take part in its first ever Winter Wear Campaign.
The campaign encourages all residents of Waterloo Region to purchase new winter coats, snow pants, hat, mittens, scarves, or gift cards to be donated to children and families in need to ensure they stay warm this winter.
“This year has been a year like no other,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “The Covid-19 pandemic has changed a lot of things, but what hasn’t changed is that people are in need in our community. We want to do our part to ensure we share the warmth this winter.”
The Winter Wear Campaign will run until November 30, 2020. All donations will go to community organizations in need throughout Waterloo Region.
Donations can be dropped off at Police Headquarters, located at 200 Maple Grove Road in Cambridge, or at any police division:
- North Division, 45 Columbia Street East, Waterloo
- Central Division, 134 Frederick Street, Kitchener
- South Division, 176 Hespeler Road, Cambridge
If you would like to arrange a date to drop off a donation, or if you would like more information, please contact Catherine Conoboy at catherine.conoboy@wrps.on.ca or 519-570-9777 ext. 8768.
