Waterloo Regional Police Lay Charges After Weapon Brandished During a Medical Call

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges after a weapon was brandished during a medical call in Kitchener.

On January 9, 2022, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police and Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services responded to the area of Weber Street East and Cedar Street North in Kitchener. 

During the incident, a weapon was brandished at paramedics.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Kitchener female was transported to hospital for assessment and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and two counts of assault with a weapon.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
