
Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have charged an additional individual in connection to a fatal hit and run collision that occurred in February 2020.
On September 8, 2020, a 33-year-old Waterloo male surrendered himself to members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service and has been charged with Fail to Remain at Accident Causing Death and Obstruct Police.
On February 3, 2020, at approximately 10:55 a.m., police responded to the area of Highland Road West and Ira Needles Boulevard in Kitchener after receiving a report of an injured male.
Upon arrival, police located a 40-year-old Kitchener male deceased by the side of the road.
Investigators believe that the male was struck by a motor vehicle while he was walking on Highland Road West near Westheights Drive on February 2, 2020, between 10:40 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. The vehicle then left the scene.
In May 2020, three other individuals were charged with Accessory After the Fact in connection to the investigation.
The accused is set to make an appearance in Kitchener’s Ontario Court of Justice today.
