Waterloo Regional Police Make Arrest after Collision in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) made an arrest after a collision in Kitchener.

On November 9, 2021, at approximately 1:05 p.m., officers observed a stolen vehicle in the area of downtown Kitchener. The vehicle left the area and at approximately 1:10 p.m. was involved in a collision in the area of Bedford Street and Courtland Avenue East. The vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another vehicle.

The male driver was observed fleeing the scene and was arrested a short distance away along with a female passenger.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 73-year-old Kitchener female, was transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Cambridge male has been charged with several offences, including failing to remain at a collision, possessing stolen property, and traffic offences. The male was also arrested on outstanding warrants and was held for a bail hearing.

A 43-year-old Kitchener female was charged with occupying a stolen vehicle.
