Waterloo Regional Police Make Arrest in Robbery Incident at Store in Kitchener

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest in a robbery incident that occurred at a business in Kitchener on August 1, 2022. 

At approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to the area of Ottawa Street South and Fischer-Hallman Road for reports of a male who brandished a box cutter when confronted by an employee of the store after the male attempted to leave without paying for merchandise. 

The male suspect fled the area and was later located by the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Canine Unit. 

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following offences: 

  • Robbery
  • Possession of stolen goods under $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of stolen credit cards 
  • Possession of suspected fentanyl 

The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
