Waterloo Regional Police Service Board Invites Community Input for 2025 Budget

WRPS Crest

The Waterloo Regional Police Service Board is encouraging residents of Waterloo Region to provide their input into the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s (WRPS) 2025 Budget.

Throughout the past year, the WRPS underwent several significant milestones, including the launch of the Service’s new Strategic Business Plan, as well as the provincial implementation of the new Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA). Taking into account these updated policy frameworks, coupled with responding to a rapidly growing Regional population and increasing service demands, the Police Service Board will be thoughtfully mapping out the future direction of policing in Waterloo Region.

Developing the annual police budget is a key component of the Police Service Board’s mandate under the CSPA and a critical step in ensuring that future service delivery meets community expectations. This vision can only be achieved through meaningful and respectful collaboration with local partners.

“The Waterloo Region Police Service Board is pleased to again provide residents of the Region of Waterloo with meaningful opportunities to convey their priorities for the upcoming WRPS budget,” said Chair Ian McLean. “We hope to hear a diverse range of perspectives from community partners who share our goal of building a stronger, safer, and more equitable Waterloo Region.”
