Waterloo Regional Police Service Releases 2021 Annual Report

Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to present its 2021 Annual Report. This report outlines our commitment to the residents of Waterloo Region and highlights the dedication and commitment our members show each and every day to ensure that residents feel safe and are safe.

“The 2021 Annual Report highlights another year of much uncertainty as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to evolve, but so too did the Police Service. I am proud of the continued commitment and resiliency of our members to serving and protecting the residents of Waterloo Region to ensure everyone is kept safe,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police.

This report introduces the 2021 Strategic Business Plan, which includes 20 goals identified as priorities to guide and shape the efforts of the Police Service over the next two years. The plan outlines a path forward to ensure the organization continues to meet the evolving needs of the community.

“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Waterloo Regional Police Service for their exceptional efforts during another challenging year,” said Karen Redman, Chair of the Waterloo Regional Police Services Board. “This report provides an opportunity to take a detailed look at policing in Waterloo Region. Inside this report, you will find information on crime statistics, policing during a pandemic, and demands for service. This report will also highlight many of the successful investigations and accomplishments achieved by members of the Police Service in their ongoing commitment to achieving operational excellence and strengthening public safety.”
