Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to present its 2023 Annual Report. This report outlines our dedication to the residents of Waterloo Region, showcasing the unwavering commitment of our members to ensuring that residents feel safe and secure.
“This report provides an in-depth look at policing in Waterloo Region in 2023 – a year that saw officers dispatched to a total of 372,247 occurrences, as they investigated violent crimes, engaged in crime prevention initiatives, assisted victims of crime, and collaborated with stakeholders and citizens, in support of our vision that every person in Waterloo Region is safe and feels safe,” said Mark Crowell, Chief of Police.
This report also highlights the conclusion of the 2021-2023 Strategic Business Plan, which identified 20 goals, 84 objectives, and five areas of focus including collaboration, innovation, operational excellence, people, and trust.
“The 2023 Annual Report highlights Waterloo Regional Police Service’s commitment to upholding public trust and confidence, safety, and community wellbeing through police service excellence. It further showcases the devoted work of the over 1,100 Waterloo Regional Police Service members to strengthen public safety within our community,” said Ian McLean, Chair of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Board.
