Waterloo Region, Ontario – The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to welcome members of Recruit Class #98 to its ranks at a special badging ceremony to be held at the Kitchener Market on December 14, 2018.
Ten new Constables have recently completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College and will be officially sworn in and receive their police badges during the ceremony.
“We are pleased to welcome Class #98 to the WRPS team and to the community,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “This is a chance to celebrate their achievements and to recognize the incredible experience and skill set they bring to our Service and to the residents of Waterloo Region.”
Prior to joining the police service, the new members studied in a variety of fields, including Business, Police Foundations, Kinesiology, Criminology, Molecular Biology, Geography and Sociology. As well, the officers bring a wealth of interests and experience in leadership and volunteer roles in community agencies and activities.
The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will include members of our Senior Administration, Police Services Board, the Ontario Court of Justice, as well as volunteers, family and friends.
