WRPS Arrest Driver for Impaired and Seize Firearm in Cambridge

Impaired Driving Arrest

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Police arrested a driver and seized a firearm after responding to a report of a possible impaired driver in Cambridge.

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers responded to a parking lot on Hespeler Road near Pinebush Road for a report of male sleeping in the driver's seat with the door open.

Officers arrived and arrested the male.

As part of the investigation, officers located and seized suspected methamphetamine. A firearm was also located and seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old male from Cambridge, was charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired by drug
  • Possession of suspected methamphetamine
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 7, 2024.
