WRPS Arrest Two Males in Connection to 16 Commerial Break and Enters

Ongoing investigation.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police arrest two males in connection to multiple commercial break and enters.

Between December 3, 2022, and February 10, 2023, unknown suspects were involved in 16 commercial break and enters at businesses across the Region of Waterloo. The suspects stole approximately $50,000 in merchandise from the businesses.

The investigations has been ongoing by WRPS’ Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft Team.

On February 10, 2023, at approximately 6:40 a.m., police received a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Fountain Street South and Shantz Hill Road in Cambridge.

Members of WRPS’ Neighbourhood Policing South Division located the suspect vehicle and arrested the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle. The passenger was also arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Officers seized suspected methamphetamine and heroin. Several pieces of stolen property were also seized in additional to the stolen vehicle.

Items seized.

 

The driver, a 33-year-old Toronto male was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired by drug
  • Possession of suspected methamphetamine
  • Possession of suspected heroin

The driver and the passenger, a 34-year-old Brampton male were also arrested and charged with the following:

  • Breach of release order
  • Theft of motor vehicle (three counts)
  • Break and enter commit theft (15 counts)
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000 (15 counts)

The investigation is ongoing.
