WRPS Arrest Youth after Responding to Weapons Incident in Kitchener

Weapons Incident

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police arrest and charge a youth after receiving reports of a weapons incident in Kitchener.

On February 21, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Victoria Street South and Oprington Drive for reports of a male in possession of a firearm.

Police arrived and arrested the male. The firearm was located and officers determined it to be a BB gun.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 16-year-old London youth with:

  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carry a concealed weapon

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

There were no reported physical injuries as a result of this incident.
