WRPS Charge Two Motorcycle Drivers in North Dumfries Traffic Stop

Waterloo Region, Ontario  Officers from WRPS’ Direct Action Response Team (DART) have charged two individuals following a traffic stop in North Dumfries.

On April 15, 2023, at approximately 6 p.m., DART officers on proactive patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Northumberland Street and Greenfield Drive after observing two motorcycle drivers with improper licence plates.

Through investigation, officers determined that neither driver had the proper class of licence to be operating a motorcycle. Both motorcycles were also deemed unsafe to be operated on a highway.

A 34-year-old female and a 28-year-old male, both from North Dumfries Township, have both been charged with several offences under the Highway Traffic Act including;

  • Driver motor vehicle- improper licence
  • Use plate not authorized for motor vehicle
  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Improper helmet
  • Operate motor vehicle- no insurance
