WRPS Continue to Investigate Single Motor Vehicle Collision in Woolwich

Waterloo Region, Ontario - Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Northfield Drive East and New Jerusalem Road in Woolwich Township.

On August 7, 2022, at approximately 8:05 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision.

The driver of a motor vehicle was travelling on Northfield Drive East when they lost control, left the roadway and struck a hydro pole. The driver then fled the scene of the collision on foot.

Officers arrived in the area and arrested the driver a short distance away. The driver was transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Woolwich Township male was charged with Dangerous Operation and Fail to Remain.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Traffic Services Unit.
