WRPS Continuing to Investigate a Kitchener Home Invasion

Ongoing investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Police are continuing to investigate a home invasion that took place in Kitchener.

On January 11, 2022, at approximately 12:50 a.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Westwood Drive and Westmount Road for a report of a robbery.

Through investigation, it was determined that two males attended the residence, carrying weapons, including a firearm, and stole personal property.

Two victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were provided medical treatment by Region of Waterloo paramedics.

As a result of the investigation, a warrant has been requested for one male for two counts of robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm, carry a concealed weapon, disobey court order and breach of probation.

At this time, the incident is believed to be targeted and there are no concerns for public safety.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit.
