WRPS' Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit Arrests Youth in Child Pornography Investigation

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit has arrested a youth in connection to a child pornography investigation. 

In September 2023, police began an investigation involving the online sharing of child pornography.

On September 14, 2023, police arrested a male youth from Wellesley Township.

The youth was charged with making available child pornography and possession of child pornography, and was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
